What Is This Coin

This officially licensed silver commemorative coin was created to celebrate sixty years of Dark Shadows. Known for its groundbreaking blend of gothic atmosphere and supernatural storytelling, the series, created and executive-produced by Dan Curtis, introduced daytime audiences to vampires, witches, ghosts, parallel timelines, and haunted New England mansions. Its legacy endures as one of television’s most distinctive cult classics.

This coin is a premium limited-edition collectible produced in a fixed run of 300, available exclusively by reservation. Each reservation secures one coin from the production batch and includes serialized numbering and a formal Certificate of Authenticity.

What Is The Shadow Collection

The Shadow Collection is a multimedia studio involved in a wide range of creative projects, including audio dramas, publishing, television development, and limited-edition collectibles. Scott Young, the creator behind the endeavor, has been part of Dark Shadows fandom since the first ShadowCon in 1977. In the mid-1980s he assisted with the development of The Music of Dark Shadows, Volume 2 for the 20th anniversary and spearheaded an early effort to launch a TV reunion film long before the 1991 revival series.

The 60th anniversary is a major milestone for the series, and Mr. Young wanted to mark the occasion with something lasting. A commemorative silver coin was chosen as a fitting way to honor the legacy of Dark Shadows and offer fans a unique collectible for the celebration.

Reservation vs. In-Stock

This coin is offered by reservation, not as an in-stock item. When you place a reservation, you are securing one coin from the limited edition of 300 that will be manufactured at a later date. No coins are kept on hand, and there is no immediate shipping option.

When you reserve a coin, you are:

Payment is collected at the time of reservation. Your coin then enters the scheduled production window. Once minting is complete and the coins arrive from the manufacturer, all reserved orders will ship in the order they were placed.

If any coins remain after all reservations are fulfilled, they may later be offered as in-stock items. Any in-stock sales, if they occur, may be priced higher based on material and production costs at that time.

Specifications

The coin contains one quarter (1/4) troy ounce of .999 fine silver and will be struck with an antique silver finish. Its final diameter will be approximately 25 millimeters, matching the proportions shown in the approved mint design. Concept images on this site represent the intended appearance; minor differences may occur during production.

Each coin includes a matching serialized Certificate of Authenticity. The number engraved on the coin will correspond to the number on the certificate. Your reservation guarantees one numbered coin from the limited edition of 300.

All specifications are subject to standard manufacturing tolerances. Any adjustments will be minor and will not affect the core design, materials, or intended presentation of the collectible.
